Subject: Re: North American Ice Cream Itinerary |
Linda and Ziners,
My vote for best North American ice cream goes to Graeters -- a fourth generation family run business with locations in Ohio (originated in Cincinnati) and Kentucky. They use the French pot process (small batches means creamier ice cream) and most of their flavors have huge delicious chunks of dark chocolate. Check out their history and drool over the flavors at http://www.graeters.com/ As for locations, my recommendation would be Lexington, KY in the spring, when everything is so green it doesn't seem real. Temporarily exiled to North Carolina, I miss the Bluegrass and the ice cream! Enjoy. Stephanie in Greensboro |
