Subject: Re: North American Ice Cream Itinerary
Madison WI Ziners:

Any of you out there know if Univ of WI still has the on-campus dairy?

When I was a Business student there nine years (Celsius), or five dog-years ago, the Ag Campus had an actual operating dairy complete with ice cream store selling student-made ice cream. The course was listed in the catalog, Ice Cream 101. I tried to take it as an MBA elective but was turned down and forced to take a statistics course instead. I recall that the ice cream they served was every bit as good as the best Florentine gelato within +/- three standard deviations from the arithmetic mean with a 95 percent level of confidence.

Meanwhile, I asked bother-in-law in Lebanon OH for Porkopolis-area ice cream suggestions besides the legendary Graeters. His contribution:

In our area, two come to mind in addition to Graeters:

Youngs Dairy, one mile north of Yellow Springs, and Aglamesis Bros in Cinci.

Hope this helps,

PS: Highly-recommended is the Moose Tracks flavor at the Mayfield Dairy in Athens TN, just off I-75 between Chattanooga and Knoxville. There's a Russell Stover chocolate outlet store a few blocks away, too!
