Dear Tory.
I went to Kenya and Tanzania last Feb. The best
gift/bartering are watches. Nices ones for gifts
cheap ones for bartering. I wish I would have
known,I would have gone to Walmart and got AT
LEAST 20 of them. The person I went with had one
on her pack and one one on her wrist(two
different times) and she was lucky to keep them.
And don't pay any attention about wearing neutral
colors the natives wear every color under the
sun.I took old extra clothes to leave behind,the
last place hit the jackpot since our bags were
past full.Interest in the culture and money(US is
accepted everywhere) are still probably the best
gifts.
