Yes, visit Annecy! We went on the recommendation of
friends and adored the place. Watch out for the early
morning street market. It's wonderful and you can dine in
any of the restaurants along the river (canal?).
Will you be driving? If so, and as you are hoping to stay in Dijon, you can drive the Burgundy vineyards route to Beaune, which is the headquarters for the Burgundy wine auctions. There is a wide variety of lovely restaurants for lunch or dinner. The drive is under 20 miles but can take the better part of the day if you stop at wineries along the way.
