If you don't mind the cold, then you could consider coming
up to Ontario to visit the Algonquin Park region, which is
about 3 hours north of Toronto. It will be cold and there
will be snow, but the area offers hiking, skating on lakes,
cross-country skiing and warm fireside nights. There are
some lovely towns within driving distance for you to
explore.
Here's a site for accommodations in the Lake of Bays area, near to Algonquin. I can recommend both Beauview Cottages and Bondi Village Resort as good places to stay at a reasonable price. http://tinyurl.com/b2f3d Personally, I would avoid a Caribbean locale.
