|Subject: Mobile phones in S America|
Please can I have a simple answer to this question -
I'm too old to be a high-tech geek so it's no good
giving me tons of guff.
Last year I went to Argentina and Chile and I'm going back in a few months. I couldn't use my phone there and borrowed one from a local company - it looked the same (a basic Nokia) but they told me its innards were different and that this type of phone was what works in the US and S America, whereas my phone was the type that works in Europe, Australia etc.
My question is - I need a new phone anyway, can I get one nowadays that will work in S America, Europe AND Australia or is that still not possible?
Thanks for your help.
Best wishes Michael Sydney, Australia
