I don't know anything about Open World Journeys to China, but we're going to China in September with Laurus Travel out of Vancouver. They get good reviews, and the customers leaving feedback on their website sound like happy travelers. There's a comment from a couple from Jerusalem, Debby.

They have tours in a wide price range. 15 days for $1400 and a 20 day trip for $4350, both land only. They're still offering two 2005 specials. Some tours go to the usual places, others are adventure type or off the beaten track. Laurus only does China tours, and groups are 10 to 20 people.

Some tour operators make frequent 'shopping stops' which most people seem to hate. The guides are either required to or they get a kick- back. I read that Laurus makes few such stops, about three, but I forgot to ask directly about it before we signed up. If you find out, please let me know. Thanks.
