I'd agree about Schipol Airport having good food outlets, I was there a few weeks back after a delayed flight from London. I caught my plane to Damascus, but my luggage never made it until a day later. KLM in Damascus paid up 100 euro without any question, they can delay my luggage any time.

I'd also add Frankfurt and mention that Changhi airport, probably the best airport in the world, has good Singaporean food - worth trying if you're only in transit.

London Heathrow also has some pubs, essential for an expat Englishman returning to Australia's apalling beer.
