Subject: Re: Airline food
Hi Harry and Ziners

As a vegetarian I always order a special meal on airlines. The standard vegetarian fare tends to be something like zucchini on pasta. I have found that ordering the Hindu vegetarian meal is much more interesting -- usually some kind of curry.

I have found increasingly, though, that on a short flight one is lucky to get a snack and on a long flight one gets a meal and a snack. The snack is almost always a sandwich with meat with no accommodation for vegetarians. I now generally bring a snack for myself if I want to avoid the kind of hunger pangs that make me irritable with the poor flight attendant who has no control over what is served.
