A friend and I are thinking about a week-long autumn driving trip around western Ireland. In a quick online search, I found many well-priced packages that include air transportation, a rental car, and vouchers for lodging. I'd like to narrow that number down and wondered if any Ziner had personal experience with such a package. I was also thinking that it might be fun to spend one or two nights at someplace like Ashford Castle or Dromoland Castle and would also be interested on any feedback about doing something like that. I've been to Ireland three times before, but my friend has only been once and then only to Dublin. We're both normally "hotel" people, but in Ireland, would consider a mix of B&Bs, hotels, and castles or manor houses. We're both interested in a leisurely trip, while still taking in some of Ireland's natural wonders. I know autumn is not the ideal time for a trip to Ireland, but that's really the only time that works for both of us. Thanks.
