I found an organization for housesitting: http://www.housecarers.com which has set me up with a Nov-April housesitting job in Oregon. The organization is easy to deal with, I joined for, I think, about $33 for a year but you can browse their files for free. Most housesitting people want you to care for one or more pets & sometimes yardwork. It does seem a great way to see other parts of the world.
