Hi,
A recent splurge that seemed worth every penny to us was Fleur de Sel near Union Square. The cooking was inventive and delicious. I had a ravioli appetizer with a beet jus reduction that was as beautiful as it was delicious, follwed by a tiny flattened chicken that superb. Everything about this place was pleasing: small but not too, nice service without being overbearing, and lovely presentations that weren't pretentious. I highly recommend it. And if I wanted a bigger bang, I would go to Daniel. We ate lunch there in its older location, and I have never forgotten it. It was about the nicest meal I can remember. Hope this helps, Debbie in Pittsburgh |
