Along with seeing the Falls which is a great wonder of the world we always like to visit the Niagara Parks Greenhouse which is a short way from the Falls. Admission is free - displays change seasonally - likely in December it would be a Christmas theme. They also have a permanent display of cactii and other tropical plants. It is a lovely way to spend an hour or so, especially in the dead of winter. There is also the Butterfly Conservatory, which is very enjoyable. Near Niagara Falls is the small town of Niagara-on-the-Lake which has many lovely little shops, restaurants and hotels. Also the Shaw Festival, but I think that is only in the summer. Hope you get a chance to come to Niagara Falls - it is truly breathtaking.
