I will be in Niagara on the Lake next week for the Shaw Festival - and will be staying at The Anchorage. I've stayed there, off and on, for four or five years and do recommend it for affordable accommodations, right on the water.

Also will zip up to Stratford for the Shakespeare before returning home - staying at The Victorian Inn, basic hotel- motel but again, reasonably priced, near the lake and walking distance to most stuff. Place to eat there is: Keystone Alley Cafe http://www.keystonealley.com - superb! And don't miss Gallery Indigena which has magificant native arts.

One year I did some checking with the county to locate my grandfather's grave at Hampstead - we drove out there to see it. Apparently I have relatives still in the area but haven't gotten gutsy enough to call and say: hey, you don't know me but I may be your 25th cousin!
