Hi Linda, Ziners
A great topic. I have been following it with pleasure. Hesitated to add my 2 cents since I am not nearly so well travelled as many of you. Still, all the same... Coming from a desert country my first WOW was the Lakes district in England - so green, so relaxing, so beautiful. Later on I saw greenery in lots of places, but the Tropical Rain forests of OZ were something I will never, ever forget. Walking the shady paths of a nature park in Tasmania (don't remember the name) and seeing a little possum under one of the trees. We just sort of looked at each other, I was afraid to try to take a pic 'cause I didn't want to scare him away. Then other people came along and he took off. I just sort of stood there and held my breath... Swimming with the wild Dusky dolphins in Kaikoura, NZ. An amazing experience. Walking a short potion of the Milford Track, NZ. The early morning boat ride in the mist to Doubtful Sound, NZ. It was cold and rainy, everyone else was inside, I stood at the bow of the boat and felt alone with nature. Fantasia for real! A [very] small boat ride out into the ocean to see the sea birds, Kaikoura, NZ. The 7 Sisters waterfalls in Geiranger Fjord, Norway. Riding up - and down! - the Dalsnibba in Norway. So many, so many...may it never end. Debby - Israel |
