I made a big decision today to postpone my planned Brazil trip till next year. It is just too expensive to be able to do quickly. It will take some saving up first.

However, I am going completely bonkers and stir crazy so I am going to get out this year.

I just booked a last minute vacation to Cozumel. Cozumel is a small island in the Mexican Caribbean - of the coast from Cancun.

Cozumel's West side is especially known for its remarkable snorkeling and scuba diving. (hm, why is it I looked towards Cozumel again?).

I have booked a room with the Coral Princess hotel. This is a 3 or 4 star hotel (depending on which ratings you read) - known to be on a beach with excellent snorkeling right off the beach.

Traveling dates are September 14th (on a redeye) coming home on September 20th.

We fly in to Cancun to save some money on airfare. There should be some good bus connections from Cancun to Playa del Carmen where we can take the ferry to the hotel.

I am feeling teary eyed with gratitude for this opportunity - its just been too long since my last real vacation! I will keep you Ziners posted on trip info etc.

Any of you have comments, recommendations or anything similar I would love to hear it!
