Subject: Air Canada baggage limit
Hi Ziners, Air Canada has announced new "free" baggage weight limits which have dropped from just over 30 kilograms to 23 Kilos, effective October 13th. Passengers with luggage over this amount will have to pay a fee. Checked luggage over 32 kilos will not be accepted at all. I suspect this is an attempt to lower the payload which will in turn lower the amount of fuel needed to get the plane to its destination.

No word on carry-on, which in my experience seems to vary with the mood of the check-in staff. This is a personal bugaboo of mine. Why do passengers haul all their worldly belongings on the plane and expect to place them in the overhead containers? Lucy, Toronto (travel light and travel fast is my motto)
