I can easily recommend Sonoma county in California.

With its plentifull vineyards several of the gently sloping hills gets completely covered in the amazing fall colors of red, orange and yellow as the wine leaves turn color.

In those areas it is like a tight carpet of fall colors. Trees turn their color too of course, and in California the fall colors last so much longer than any other place I have been.

Generically - Sonoma county is a wonderful place to visit.
