Subject: Winnipeg
Hi Jan,

With just two nights to spare, I'd welcome the chance to get to know Winnipeg (I've never been there), rather than heading in the opposite direction to Montreal or Quebec City.

I just read about a medieval-style B&B in the River Heights district that sounds interesting. The article, in the National Post newspaper, suggested the Royal suite "with its double French doors, ensuite bathroom, queen-sized bed and woodburning fireplace" which, according to the "bedroom descriptions" on the web site, could be yours to enjoy for just 90 CAD. http://bbcanada.com/8962.htm

The same article recommended the Fusion Grill http://www.fusiongrill.mb.ca/ as the best place to eat.

For shopping, the downtown Exchange District or Academy Road. Also, Corydon, Winnipeg's Little Italy, "features a vast array of boutiques, restaurants, lounges and galleries", all within ten blocks.

There are more than ten theatres plus the Royal Winnipeg Ballet http://www.rwb.org/ and the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra http://www.wso.mb.ca/index.php .

Here's the web site for Winnipeg transit: http://winnipegtransit.com/main/index.jsp

Hope that helps, Linda
