Subject: Night Tours
Hello Ziners,

I am a bit late on this, but have moved and had computer problems. I most often travel alone and have for over 40 years so I have spent a lot of nights.

Of course most of the big cities offer night tours--I have done several in New York and also in Paris, Rome, and London. I really enjoyed the London Walks tours--night and day. So I have done this company in Paris and will in Rome my next trip.

I do not mind eating alone and frequent smaller restaurants--and I read, which I know has pro and con believers. I also choose my hotels through research and especially where they are located. I choose hotels in areas that from experience or from reading books and Internet where there is a lot of life and where I am quite certain I will not be afraid to be out at night. For example the area around the Spanish Steps or Piazza Navona in Rome, the Louvre and Ile de la Cite' in Paris, the Duomo in Florence, and a hotel five minutes walk from Victoria Station in London. From there you can go most anywhere in the city.

I have truly enjoyed traveling alone and also my many walks through parts of these cities. I also agree on the evening hours at museums, but so far have only done this at the Capitoline Museums in Rome.

Sincerely,

Joan Illinois
