Subject: new online tool for researching flights
Ziners,

I have just learned of a new, free online service that lets you research a flight's on-time rating and cancellation history before you buy a ticket. It consolidates data from public repositories so it is not as though it is making available secret insight.

But I think that the neatest feature is the ability to compare airlines and even different flights between a pair of airports. For example, I can choose between American, United, Delta or US Air between Los Angeles and New York JFK. Which airline's performance is best? Which specific flights are the best? Am I more likely or less likely to have my flight cancelled if I fly at 8 am vs. 12 noon or 2 pm?

Check it out yourself. Start at http://www.flightstats.com and choose Sample Apps.
