I have not contributed in quite a while, but, since San Antonio is only a couple of hours away from Houston, I have visited many times.

One of the good Mexican restaurants on the Riverwalk is Mi Tierra. Here is the link http://www.mitierracafe.com/

It is open 24 hours a day. You might consider having breakfast there. There is a bakery (panaderia) with lots of fresh Mexican sweet breads to try. Another popular dish for breakfast is called migas.

There are also strolling musicians to entertain you.
