My wife and I are thinking about driving down to the Southland for a few days to see the Getty, Norton Simon and Huntington museums then to San Diego to go to the zoo.

My plan is to head out really early on a Sunday morning from Sonoma and head directly to the Getty, then drive across to the Pasadena area that evening to stay there for a couple of nights to hit the Simon and Huntington. I'm hoping to avoid driving anywhere west of Pasadena on a weekday.

After that we'll head down to San Diego for a couple of days to see the zoo and wild animal park.

If anyone has any suggestions for hotels for those areas I'd appreciate it.
