Wow seems like everytime I go to Klagenfurt it snows! We've had around a foot just in the last 12 hours...I love the Chistmas / New Year's Market here and I always stay at The Golden Colt, in which the guesthouse run by the Prettner Family (Hanno Prettner is multiple world champion model airplane pilot and his mother, "Oma" runs the place)is located. It is right in the heart of Klagenfurt on Alter Platz.

The rooms are clean and modern, all recenly remodeled and furnished in the over 500-year old building. I've translated, into English, the short history of The Golden Colt and put it up on my website. The service is really first class but I recommend booking a room early when planning a trip as the Fremdenzimmer Prettner is very popular with foreign and Austrian tourists.
