Subject: Visiting family members during the holidays
Hi Ziners,

A very Happy New Year to all! Our holidays have involved a bit of traveling to be able to see everyone in our family. We started with an early Christmas celebration with my parents in mid December, then down to Nashville to see our oldest son perform in Handel's Messiah, with the Nashville Symphony Chorus. Then, back home to prepare for our Christmas celebration with two of our sons and their families, including our grandbaby. The day after Christmas, we headed back down to Nashville to spend a few days with our oldest son and his wife. Finally, we headed home and back up to the Chicago suburbs for our middle son's birthday celebration on New Year's Eve.

When I was growing up, our family lived in one town, so getting to see everyone was easy. We could celebrate Christmas Eve with friends, Christmas morning with my family, and head for my grandmother's or aunt's house in the afternoon. However, these days, it's a challenge to see everyone. It seems to me that most people have family members who live far away. How about you? Do you travel to see family during the holidays or is that the time to stay at home?

Best regards and warm holiday wishes, Sandy in Illinois
