We have only done the Corsica - Sardinia link by Ferry. At that time (1992) we travelled to Corsica from from Nice, France by ferry too.

Though the ferry is slower, there are usually benefits like good accomodations near the ferry terminal.

I can't recall any specifics for Corsica since the trip was so long ago. I remember that in Bonifacio, our hotel was on the other side of the harbour from the Ferry Terminal and very close to the Bus Terminal.
