Subject: Re: Montreux ccasgnola
Hi Joao,

Montreux is a famous village (Chateau Chillon, Jazz festival, Classical Music Festival) but I would not recommend it if the primary purpose of your visit to Switzerland is skiing. It's too far away from the major ski locations and it will take you several hours every day to go and come back, especially if there is snow on the roads. Most of the ski resorts are located at the end of a valley and the road to get there is narrow. I would suggest to choose one resort and to spend your time there.

There are very big ski areas like Verbier (close to Martigny) or Champery (close to Monthey). If instead you like a smaller resort you can try Villars sur Ollons (close to Aigle) and connected to Les Diablerets.

Unfortunately I can't tell you which of the 3 is best because I've never been there. My friend likes Verbier very much and she has been skiing there for many years. It has many ski slopes and it is connected to other ski resorts. Also Champery-Porte du Soleil has many ski slopes and it is connected to Morzine-Avoriaz in France. I think the best is to check out the websites and look for special offers (hotel with skipass included in the price).

I wish you a wonderful time! Cornelia, Minusio, Switzerland
