Subject: Yorkshire, Cornwall, Wales? |
Ziners,
My sister and I are planning a trip to England next October. We'd like to go back where we began - - an ancestor emigrated to Massachusetts from Halifax, Yorkshire back in the 1600s. Does anyone know anything about Halifax? We also love to walk and would be interested in knowing about good places to walk in Yorkshire. We will most likely be renting a car, so could stay in one place as a base and plan various days of walking from there. Or we might possibly join a group for a few days. Any suggestions are welcome. We'd also like to spend a week either in Cornwall or Wales. Again, walking is a big thing with us. We're both in our 60s and fairly fit, but since my sister is legally blind and all of the map reading and finding of trail markers is up to me, and she sometimes insists that we aren't going in the right direction, I'd say that 10 to 12 miles a day is our comfort level. I'd be interested in learning of not-to-be-missed places and reasonably priced b & b's in Yorkshire, Cornwall and Wales. Our plans are still quite fluid, so we're open to anything.
