Subject: Re: Santa Fe , New Mexico
Hi Harry,

A wonderful hotel/motel in Santa Fe is the El Rey Inn. It is located on Cerrillos Road (the main drag leading into Santa Fe) about 1 mile or so from the old town area (an easy drive or a nice leisurely long walk, depending on one's energy!).

The El Rey has lovely, immaculate, good-sized rooms - and their surrounding courtyards and gardens are beautiful. They have a pool as well as a hot tub. Although they are on the main drag, it is very quiet. Prices run about $80-$125 per night for a double (last time I was there) and include a good continental breakfast. It seems to me that they cater to an older crowd (I've never seen kids here). The front desk staff (it is a privately owned hotel) is helpful and can arrange for car service, tours, tickets, etc.

They have a great reputation and usually fill up quickly. I think you can check out availability online, but I would call, too, since oftentimes a phone call results in a better rate and availability. Following is the link to their website: http://www.elreyinnsantafe.com/

A good, fun restaurant right on the Plaza is Pasquals - great Santa Fe cuisine - very informal. It's very popular - the lines go outside for lunch!

Santa Fe is my favorite place - enjoy!
