Hi, Debbie -

You'll be in Pt. Townsend at a good time (but be prepared for wind, and even some cold weather. When coming to Western Washington it's always a good idea to dress in layers!)

As you've heard, Pt. Townsend is full of places to keep you busy. It also has one of the most spectacular settings of any city in Washington, large or small - you'll see. If you have time, drive (or take the local bus) out to Ft. Worden, on the bluffs just N. of town, to see the old buildings and walk on the wonderful beach. The fort, now used as a community and arts center, was the setting for the movie "An Officer and a Gentleman" years ago.

An easy destination between Pt. T. and Seattle is to take the ferry from just south of downtown Pt. T. to Whidbey Island. There are lots of interesting little towns & spacious beaches to explore there, and when you're ready to go on, you can take the ferry to Mukilteo, from the other side of the island, and, once landed, you'll be in Seattle in just over an hour.

There are several Washingtonians on this list - I'm sure you will get lots of ideas. Enjoy your trip.
