I used Laterooms last summer to book a hotel near Woodstock and Oxford. Good deal. I could cancel it. I found with Laterooms I could book directly with the hotel which I did because the Laterooms site did not work with my browser or ??? Basically I used the site to locate the deal but I mentioned LateRooms in my email to them. http://www.laterooms.com/

Also I prepaid a hotel at Heathrow and got a great deal - 39 pounds for a double. Not cancellable but we knew we were flying early the next day from Heathrow. Useful location - walk to tube station (Hatton Cross). Also we were able to check in at 10 in the morning so we could stash our luggage before having a very full day in London. BTW, I haven't found my Canadian credit card a problem with most sites. There *are* sites that are designed just for US zip codes, not Canadian postal codes.
