We all have our disappointments and surprises when visiting cities. For example, Rome is a city that I have never been able to warm up to despite trying many times. Not sure why but it has never captured my imagination. Vienna, was another disappointment to me.

On the other hand, Bangkok and Kathmandu were great delights despite the noise, pollution, crazy traffic and poverty all around. St. Petersburg also lived up to expectations and Venice will always be a special place for me.

So Ziners, what cities surprised you? Which ones disappointed? Which ones would you return to/pass on, and why?
