I loved Rome and didn't really warm to Florence. Yes, I know that Florence is supposed to be "feminine" etc. Great art, though. Great views from Piazza Michelangelo. Maybe I have to give it another go.

I was surprised how much I loved Paris. I think it partially my travel pace. We were there for 3 weeks in a small studio apartment and really settled in.

My disappointment - Amsterdam. I don't get why people like it so much. There are other places with better canals - Venice, Bruges, Antwerp! I took the tram tour and the canal cruise and visited the Rijksmuseum, wandered in an artsy district. But even Brussels with its Grand Place wowed me more (be sure to see the sound and light show there). To be fair to Amsterdam, I only visited it in my middle-age so perhaps I missed out on what turns people on!
