JoAnne has given you several excellent suggestions. I think you may also enjoy Half Moon Bay, CA. There are several hotels and B & B's - Seal Cove Inn and Cypress Inn at Miramar Beach are two of my favorites, but there are many others.

The airport in San Francisco is very accessible - just a hop, skip and jump up highway 1 to 280, then over 380 to 101 and SFO. You would be able to spend maximum time at the coast before jetting home.

What a lovely dilemma - trying to narrow down the possibilities!
