I read a nice little book some years ago called 'A walk across France' by Miles Morland. Since you are walking across a portion of France I thought I'd let you know about it. These folks were walking from the Med to the Atlantic (350 miles) and made up their own route and made all their own arrangements. Also it was kind of a soul searchiing trip after retiring as a banker plus a "getting to know you - AGAIN" trip for him and his wife. I think you may enjoy reading it.
