We were due to stay in the Hotel Fenix in October 2005. We made the reservation, provided credit card details and it was confirmed. When we arrived we were "bumped", they claimed that the hotel was full, however we were assured of a lovely room in their sister hotel the Florida which was just round the corner. The Florida was not acceptable because of the extremely noisy air conditioning. We slept there one night packed our bags and moved next door to the Aviz a brand new hotel opened in July 2005, it was clean, quiet and extremely pleasant.

We went over to the Fenix to have a look at what we had missed out on and thought that it was a bit run down and looked very much as though it catered for large tour groups.
