The Novotel on Sydney's Darling Harbor has fabulous views, is within walking distance of lots of good shopping and restaurants, and an easy walk to the ferries. It's been a few years since we visited but it remains one of our favorite hotel experiences.

Jo, thanks for the Tunisia update. While flying over the area late last year on the way to Cape Town (from Amsterdam) I was amazed at the views from my airplane window. It was a real thrill to see the Mediterranean yield to the Coast of Africa, then rugged mountains followed by sand desert, and the canopies of the rain forest.
