Subject: Accommodations in Lisbon |
Hi Ziners:
Now that we have our flights booked, we are starting the search for accommodation. Lisbon is up first. Here's what's worked for us in other European cities: - a smaller hotel with decent sized rooms - direct-dial telephone and mini-bar or access to a refrigerator - a nice(but not fancy) residential neighbourhood with a decent number of cafés and restaurants - 15-20 minute walk from main sights - 100 euros per night or less We've been doing some research and have come up with the following. We're wondering if people would be willing to comment on the hotels themselves and/or the neighbourhoods. **At Anjos metro station - we have no sense of this neighbourhood at all: - Hotel Travel Park (http://www.hoteltravelpark.com) **Northeast of Parque Eduardo VII - we think this neighbourhood might be about right although it's a bit further out: - Real Parque (http://www.hotelrealparque.com) - Turim Lisboa (http://www.maisturismo.pt/1/410.html) - Zenit Lisboa (http://www.zenithoteles.com/hotel.asp?Hot_ID=7) **Rua Costa do Castelo - We've also located an apartment for rent in this area but we realize it's very hilly and want to know how much work it will be to get a coffee in the morning! - Olissippo Castelo (http://www.olissippohotels.com) Any comments or alternate suggestions are very welcome!
