I will be in San Diego on business at the end of March. I'll have one day free to get together with my son. I told him I wanted to do something outdoors and active.

I got to thinking about it and realize that I'm a 62 year- old woman who walks a few miles a day and hikes in the Berkshires every few weeks. My son is a 22 year-old Marine.

Does anyone have any suggestions for spending the day "outdoors and active" that will satisfy both of us? I'm willing to push myself a bit, but I'm assuming he'll also need to accommodate to me. (BTW, I love desert, mountains and beaches.)
