I always carry copies of important stuff, like a photocopy of my passport page, credit card numbers, and anything else that I might need, on me, as well as having a copy of the same in my bags. I realize that it's a bit unsecure carruomg the credit card numbers around with me, but I don't normally access my e-mail when travelling. Particularly as where I go most often doesn't have electricity, and the one internet place in town, which does have electricity, is so slow and expensive it's not worthwhile wasting time and money with it.

Have you heard whether there were any pets on the car deck when the ferry sank? That was always my fear when taking our dog over to the Island and having to leave her locked in the car. Doesn't bear thinking about.
