Subject: Accommodation in Northern Portugal
Hi Regina and fellow travellers to Northern Portugal,

In the North of Portugal, we stayed at a Quinta--one of the oldest in the area--called "Paco D'Ana". It was slightly south of Viana Do Castelo.

We had a 2 bedroom cottage, livingroom with fireplace, full kitchen, 2 bathrooms and they made us breakfast --all this for 80 Euro per night. It was fun! I understand they have a website now so you should be able to Google it.

In Porto we stayed at the Grande Hotel do Porto http://www.grandehotelporto.com/ on Santa Catarina St. right around the corner from the market and within walking distance of the river. If you like port wine try the Port Institute--beautiful view and great ports!

Don't forget the Thurs. market at Braganca--I buy shoes and pots--great prices --as well as food. Also don't miss the Castle at Guilmares. Post again if you have other questions as we spent a week in the North.
