Subject: Re: Deep Vein Thrombosis and air flights

The use of a 'compression' stocking like TravelSox is certainly helpful in preventing dependent edema that can occur during a long flight, however, from the standpoint of DVT prophylaxis, it is still important to prevent immobility (which the sock don't do!); by getting up and walking up and down the aisle once or twice, or doing some form of foot/leg exercise at your seat.
