My wife and I will be spending a week in Florence, Italy. We plan to use three days for one day trips to other Tuscan locales e.g. Lucca, Siena and perhaps a longer trip to Bologna. Would TrenItalia be the way to purchase tickets? I also understand that you can purchase a block of kilometers and draw against them per trip. Or would a point to point purchase on a as needed basis be the right alternative?

I have seen both three pronged and two pronged plug adapters noted for Italy in a travel store. I thought that the two pronged adapter was the common one throughout the country. Can I be advised of this.
