Next month I will be staying in the Saintes area and, having a romanticized idea of the chemin St. Jacques, was planning to walk at least a minor section of the route, or at least visit some of the pilgrimage sites in the area at Saintes and Poitiers. Did you walk this route from Tours to Bordeaux, and if so, were there areas that you would recommend?
