Sorry for the late response and thanks for the information on Avignon. We just returned from San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato. Stayed in a lovely B&B in San Miguel called Casa Luna, actually two sites both beautiful. Many American ex- pats who are leaving more cheaply and well in Mexico. However we both preferred Guanajuato, which has Diego Rivera's home, mummies and mines (gold & silver), much colonial architecture and lots of history.
