Hello fellow Ziners!
We off to St. Augustine with our RV for a week at the beach! The campground we stay at (been visiting there for over 10 years) is right on the ocean and there's nothing like waking up to a good strong whiff of the sea! Then we're off to Quebec for 3 weeks at the end of May coupling it with our attending retirement dinners (2) for our friends in New York. September we will spend a week in Hilton Head at our favorite condo rental--it too is on the beach. HH is great for riding bikes, kayaking, golf, tennis, local history abounds and of course, an abundance of excellent food options! Then we will be taking our RV up to Georgia/North Carolina for the month of October. We plan to attend the Big Pig Jig in Vienna, Georgia--it is a famous BBQ festival held every fall. Then up to Helen, Georgia for its Oktober Fest. Also very popular with its German bands, plenty of kraut, pretzels and beer. Ever onward our most northerly destination will be Asheville, North Carolina--leaves starting to turn, the fall colors set against Biltmore Estate. Then we'll head back home stopping in Atlanta and points south. I'm in the planning stage for 2007 and all sorts of ideas are running through my head! Of course our travels have an extra dimension due to the fact that we travel with our little dog--a dachshund named Prev. While it puts many destinations out of our reach due to the fact that either dogs are not permitted or the flights are too long, we still manage to find ways to see plenty. Actually, in 2006 our three months in Europe with him went superbly! Because of him we have met great people. Regards, Jane, Boca Raton |
