Hi Julia,
Please don't eliminate our favorite the Eastern Townships from your choices. It is a beautiful and charming area with an interesting history and wonderful things to do. The area around Lake Memphremagog is particularly attractive. The town of Magog- the regional tourist area is fun to visit and shop in. North Hatley a little upper scale. Unfortunately the extraordinary Auberge Hatley- the best food in the region- burned down last month but there are many other attractions. Speaking of food, while in Quebec City, try the fabulous Laurie Raphael. Rick in Connecticut Mod's note from Linda: We'll second Rick's recommendation of Laurie Raphael: http://www.thetravelzine.com/3canada2000.htm |
