Hi Paul and Ziners,
On Pat's recommendation we stayed at "Cuatrovientos" in Feb. 2004. Although we enjoyed it a lot there are a couple of things you should know. The area was excellent from our perspective. Very hilly but walkable into the old town, reasonably quiet for PV, a terrific bar on the roof deck with wonderful sunset views and very reasonable prices. However, we felt it was a bit like camping in the very basic rooms. Awful plumbing, a shower that wouldn't drain, no closet and a small bed. The breakfasts were taken on the delightful patio where we met some charming people but the breakfast itself was poor and the server did not appreciate being asked for milk for coffee or anything else. Pat had mentioned,Gloria, the owner, as being quite a character. We saw her only once during our 4 night stay and she didn't speak to us. We saw 2 families who had booked for a few nights check out after one. I think they found the rooms to be quite different to their expectations. In any case, some people go there year after year, as Pat probably does (Though I don't know when you were last there, Pat) and I don't want to sound negative but I think you should know the facts. By the way, we had a truly wonderful day on the beach in Yelapa, also on Pat's advice, don't miss it! Regards to all, Judy, Abbotsford BC CANADA |
