Hello Ziners and Nancy,
We were in Sorrento two weeks ago. I can recommend the Hotel Nido located above the town, where every room has a balcony with a great view of the coast. It also had one of the best breakfasts in our two-week stay in Italy - including scrambled eggs and cold cuts. Il Nido is reasonably priced (110 euros per night for a quadruple), very clean, and they have a mini-van that takes guests back and forth to the town many times during the day. Their web site http://www.ilnido.it includes a web cam: http://www.accommodation-in-sorrento.com/webcam.htm We also went to the island of Capri for a day, and the highlights for us were the Giardini di Augusto in Capri, and the church of San Michele in Anacapri, with its fabulous majolica pavement floor depicting Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. We took the ski lift up the mountain in Anacapri, and frankly enjoyed that more than the walk up to the palace in Capri! Anne (back from Italy, in Toronto) |
