Subject: Re: Puerto Vallarta - Los Cuatro Vientos
Good morning Ziners,

I know I'm also probably too late to be chiming in about Los Cuatro Vientos Hotel. We have been staying there for years and only this year did we stay elsewhere because of my two knee replacements. It's quite a climb up the hill.

I agree that the hotel needs some cosmetic repair to the landscaping, etc. but the hotel itself is excellent, very clean, provides breakfast each day with the cost of the room which is about $55 U.S. per day, and has a wonderful restaurant, Chez Elena on site, and a rooftop bar with probably one of the best views in P.V.

The owner, Gloria Whiting, has become a dear friend of ours and she enjoys repeat business from annual returnees so I guess this attests to how much the guests like to stay there. We were there several times in February for dinner and to visit Gloria and ran into a past guest from Minneapolis who has also been a regular for quite some time and she was there for a month.

We enjoy the ambience of being in a Mexican neighbourhood and the congeniality of the guests around the communal breakfast table in the morning. The staff has also been there for a long time.

This is not a fancy place but it's good value for the money in our opinion. It is also recommended in several of the travel guides.
